Extended Care Program
Extended care at Unity Recovery Center is a program that is designed to help patient in their early recovery stages, giving them additional support and guidance after successfully completing alcohol or drug rehabilitation program. Each extended care patient is treated and monitored individually, addressing each of their needs and their progress.
Unity Recovery Center’s Extended Care Program offers a supportive, transitional sober living environment for patients who have successfully avoided alcohol and drug use for thirty days or longer in our residential treatment programs. The program is designed for patients in early recovery from drug or alcohol addiction and gives each of our patients the additional benefit of sober structure and support after they leave our care. In an extended sober house, patients are able to recover in a safe and sober living community, but are also free to pursue goals and continue their day-to-day lives in the outside world, without having to be micro-managed.
Unity Rehab encourages its patients to structure their days and set goals for maintaining a healthy lifestyle when recovering in the “real world”. While gaining employment or volunteering, it is also important that a recovering addict continue to participate in weekly therapy sessions and the 12-step program in order to avoid relapse and stay drug and alcohol free. Patients in our extended care program should also attend our intensive outpatient treatment during the first month that they are out of rehab if they are residing near our rehab facility.
In addition to our clinical services, Unity’s extended care program can also offer holistic treatments such has yoga and fitness, aimed at keeping its patients in a healthy state of mind and body while recovering. Treatment should never end just because a patient is no longer enrolled in our inpatient rehabilitation program. Even if a patient returns back to his or her hometown, a great distance from our recovery center, we will do our best to find a nearby treatment center or 12-step program in their area, so they may easily and seamlessly continue on their path towards recovery.
